Flush Toilets Can Help Reduce Childhood Deaths

A flush toilet could be a cheap but strong tool to help reduce childhood deaths in poor nations because it will separate waste from clean water.  Peru found the installation of a flush toilet in the home raised by 60% the chances of a child surviving to the first birthday, and in Egypt by 57%.  The U.N. Development Program said 2 million kids die each year from lack of clean water.
