Teak:
With an average lifespan of 75 years, teak is by far the best choice for outdoor wood furniture.  Untreated, this luxuriant hardwood can endure season after season of everything Mother Nature can dish out.  Winter storage is unnecessary as our fine teak furniture resists water, weather, and warping as it mellows to a soft silver color.  The "new" look can be maintained by the application of teak oil once or twice a year, although this only affects the color, not the integrity of the wood, and most prefer the look of fine aged teak.  The highest-grade teak comes from plantations in Indonesia and Jewels of Java is proud to work with Perum Perhutani, the state owned agency responsible for managing the conservation of the Indonesian teak forest where no tree is harvested unless another is planted to replace it.  The wood is then kiln dried and constructed with mortise and tenon joinery creating furniture to last a lifetime.

All-Weather Rattan:
Jewels of Java constructs our all-weather rattan from the very best synthetic fiber resulting in the only outdoor wicker furniture worthy of our name.  Unlike natural wicker our rattan is maintenance-free and can be left outside year round with no ill effects.  It's the closest thing to natural rattan with the added advantage of being available in a variety of colors and patterns with no peeling or flaking since the color runs throughout the fiber. 

Natural Rattan:
The finest indoor natural rattan furniture in many eye-catching styles is available from Jewels of Java on a special order basis.  Our natural rattan is made exclusively for us from the best rattan available in Indonesia and crafted into the highest quality furniture that even the most discerning would be proud to have in their home.     
 
Cushions:
At Jewels of Java we custom make our cushions in our facility in New York to offer our customers the chance to make their outdoor furniture truly their own.  Our fabrics are made by Sunbrella, the industry leader, in a myriad of colors, patterns, and textures.  All Sunbrella fabrics are worry free, resisting stains and fading for years and years of outdoor enjoyment.

Care:
Teak Products:
To care for your teak products is simple.  Wash the dirt that accumulates with any commercially available teak or wood cleaner.  Storage in winter months is not necessary. 

Outdoor Rattan Products:
To care for your rattan products is simple.  Wash with a mild detergent and a soft brush.

Indoor Rattan Products:
To care for your rattan products is simple.  Dust or vacuum only, with a soft brush.  Should the finish wear off; there are commercially available touch-up products that you can purchase from your local hardware store.

Dimensions:
Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, all measurements are approximate.

Cushions:
Cushions are custom made.  They therefore require a 50% non-refundable deposit and full payment prior to shipping.  Cushions cannot be returned.

Product Changes:
Jewels of Java reserves the right to make design and color changes to its products without notice.

Jewels of Java Policies:
Shipments:
Unless otherwise noted or requested, items are shipped fully asssembled by Motor Freight.  When your order is shipped you will be notified of the carrier and Bill of Lading Number.  Upon delivery...

1.) Open and inspect all shipments promptly.  The driver is required to wait while you inspect the goods.
2.) In the unlikely event that damage occurs during shipment, write "damaged" on the delivery receipt. The driver will give you a copy of the delivery receipt.
3.) Keep the damaged goods and packing until the claim is resolved.  DO NOT REFUSE THEM!
4.) Notify Jewels of Java immediately and promptly fax the copy of the delivery receipt to Jewels of Java at 607-754-2538 so a claim can be filed.  Jewels of Java reserves the right to require pictures to document the damage and substantiate the claim to the motor carrier.

Any damage noted after the delivery receipt has been signed cannot be claimed and is subject to
Jewels of Java's warranty policy.

Warranty:
Teak Products:
Jewels of Java warrants teak products for two years against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, abuse, tampering, negligence, or normal wear.  Jewels of Java reserves the right to repair or replace the item at our discretion.  Teak furniture that is exposed to the elements will weather, turning an attractive silvery grey.  This is natural and does not in any way compromise the integrity of your furniture. 

Outdoor Rattan Products:
Jewels of Java warrants outdoor rattan products for one year against defects in materials and workmanship.  This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, abuse, tampering, negligence, or normal wear.  Jewels of Java reserves the right to repair or replace the item at our discretion.

Cushions:
Jewels of Java warrants cushions for one year against defects in materials and workmanship.  Sunbrella fabrics are warranted per Sunbrella, currently 3 years.  This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, abuse, tampering, negligence, or normal wear.  Jewels of Java reserves the right to repair or replace the item at our discretion.

Indoor Rattan Products:
Jewels of Java warrants rattan products for one year against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, abuse, tampering, negligence, or normal wear.  Jewels of Java reserves the right to repair or replace the item at our discretion.

Returns:
All returns to Jewels of Java require a return authorization number.  Call in advance of returning the items or credit will not be honored.  Warranty returns may require pictures of damage to substantiate the warranty claim.  Jewels of Java reserves the right to require the return of goods at the customer's expense.  Cushions are custom made and cannot be returned.
